THE NELSON TEA PENSIONERS

The receiver lias distributed the final dividends of £25,399 sterling in- connection with che Nelson tea pensioners. The total pension liabilities amounted to £6,445,578. THE TURKISH LOAN. The underwriters take 80 per cent, of the Turkish loan. A DESTRUCTIVE FIRE. A, fire at E. Holden’s earthenware works at Wallsall did damage to the extent of £IOO,OOO. Much costly machinery and stock were destroyed. DAMAGED MEAT CLAIM. In the case, Otago Farmers’ Co-op-erative Association v. Thompson, underwriter, in connection with the loss on frozen meat by the steamer Surrey, judgment was given by the ‘King’s Bench for the defendant, with costs. ACCIDENT ON A WARSHIP. NEW YORK, Nov. 7. During an endurance test a boilei tube burst and four of the North Dakota’s firemen were scalded. GERMAN SOCIALISTS. BERLIN, Nov. 7. Elections have sent in 25 Socialists for the Saxon Diet where formerly there were none. Now the Socialists in both Baden .and Saxony are able to turn the scale in any division.
