A game in the Handicap Singles competition of the Gisborne Bowling Club was played yesterday afternoon between Ambridge and Bullock. The former conceded two points to the latter, the handicap allowances being Ambridge 4, Bullock 6. The game resulted an a decided victory for Ambridge, who scored a total, including his handicap, »or 23 points to his opponent’s 14. He twice trot in all four bowls, and established a load which his opponent was unable to overtake. TURANGANUI CLUB. The green was in excellent condition at the Turanganui Ciub’s rinks yesterday afternoon, and several enjoyable games were played. —Bennett Cup.— Entries closed yesterday for the Bennett Cup, with eighteen entrants, as follows Messrs W. Brace, R. 0. Skeet, M. A. Neill, VY Hooper, M. G. Nasmith junr, T. McConnell, C. . r . Lewis, AV. Ratcliffe, J. J. Martin, W. H. Douglas, J. Colley, J. P. Williams, B. Hird, C. J. Bennett, A. Sawyer, P. Hallam, M. G. Nasmith, senr., and ML McPherson. In this competition each player meets each player, and the bowler" securing the greatest number of wins bv February 28, 1910 obtains tlie Cup and the pair of bowls presented by Mr. C. J. Bennett. ' The first game in the Bennett Cup was played yesterday afternoon, and resulted as follows: — M. G. Nasmith junr 30 beat AY. Brace-11.- —This game was .altogether in the former’s favor, who was 16 to 2 on the lOlli head, and won easily by 19 points. Bruce played lip to form, butNasmith gave a splendid exhibition of drawing, and was deadly throughout.
