At the Supreme Court degrees nisi wore granted in the cases, Alice Murphy v. John Murphy, desertion and cruelty; Alice Olivia Tucker v. Win. Tucker, misconduct; John Brunt and Emma Etliei Brunt and James White, misconduct; George Arthur Bush v. Catherine Margaret Bush and Arthur T. Davis, misconduct. SUDDEN ILLNESS OF A POLICE OFFICER. PALMERSTON N., Nov. 14. While Sub-inspector O’Donovan, the officer in charge of the local police, was walking home last night with Dr. O’Brien, he suddenly became faint, and fell vomiting blood 1 freely from th 0 stomach. Dr. O’Brien had him immediately conveyed home, where lie was for a time in great danger. To-dav, though he is very weak, it is believed that the the danger is past. HOMICIDAL MANIA. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 13. A young man named Charles Brown, residing with 'his mother at Springfield Road, "at an early hour this morning suddenly developed homicidal mania He attacked his mother with a carving knife in a violent and determined manner. His older brother was present and saved his mother from being seriously injured. . The police were scut for. Brown fled, and the police are searching for him. He has not yet been captured.
