THE WANGANUI TOURNAMENT
(Rich Pnrcss Association.T ; WANGANUI, Novi . 21. The Wanganui Boxing Association’s tournament was concluded on Saturday night: in the presence of. a good audience. The results of the semi-finals were as follows : Novice light-weight: Whaler (Tailiape) beatfßullock (Wanganui), who was disqualified. Middle-weight r-Geale (Bunnythorpe) beat Ireland (Waipawa). Welter-weight: Hogan (Wanganui) ibeat Williams (Kai Iwi): Turner (Wellington) beat Johnson (Wanganui).
The finals resulted as follows: Light-weight Championship: P.ortor (Wellington) beat Ciarke (Palmerston North). . ■ Bantam: ICubner (Wellington) heat Cook (Napier). .Middle-weight: Devitt heat Geale, who went, into the ring with both thumbs damaged. , . ’ Welter-weight: Hogan beat Turner, who was disqualified for fouling. • W. Wenand was declared to he the most scientific boxer, and secured the special prize. '
