POVERTY BAY CLUB. The final for Cox’s fours was rowed on Saturday evening, between A. Kirk, West, Lloyd, and«Kartoii and Doig, Allen, and Sceat,s, and resulted in <Tne of tlae best races that has ever taken place in connection with this club Kirk, who had the inside course, had * the advantage at Dr. Williams but at the junction both crews were level. Coming through tho bridge Nicolas had a lead of about a quarter of a length, and he kept the load Ml opposite Dalgetv’s, where Kirk quickened up and drew level, then slowly forged ahead. From a liard-tought struggle Kirk got home by a bare margin of three feet. Both crews were completely rowed out at the finish.
