COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL MEETING

A special meeting of the Cook County Council was held yesterday afternoon. when there were present Crs. A. F. Matthews (Chairman) F; Holden and R; Sherratt.

The first business was the confirmation of a special order regarding the creation of a special rating area Tor the raising of a loan of £I6OO for widening and metalling Riverside Road. Some discussion took place regarding the installation of a sanitary/system at Mangapapa. It was eventually decided th&tl a by-law be prepared to provide for the removal of nightsoil within a special district, being portions of Kaiti and Whatriupoko. The fee for the removal of the nightsoil to bo 6d per pan per week, owners of houses to provide the pans." The solicitor to be instructed to -prepare the draft byjaw and proceed with the notification. Cr. Matthews and the Clerk were requested to defino the boundaries of the special district. It was further resolved that the Council purchase the old cart and harness lately used by the Borough Council and that Mr J. pampev he appointed the contractor. A letter was read from the Borough Council containing notification of the intention to erect a “ 'bridge over the Waimata river, connecting McLean Street and Hurahura road.
