EMPLOYERS ' INTERESTS.
NOT CONSIDERED SUFFICIENTLY
rPiju Press Association,! WELLINGTON, Dee. 7. The Parliamentary Committee of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation has written to the Prime Minister, conveying objection to the manner in whcli legislation affecting employers’ interests is being put through Parliament this session. Complaint IS specially Made regarding the iSliippUlg find Seamen. Shops and Offices, Factories, Coal Mines and Mining Acts Amendment Bills. The committee urges that tho complicated, and ; far-reaching effects of the Shipping Bill warrant the suggestion that it .should have been circulated one session and considered the following session. “Several clauses, says the committee, “were passed in committee, the fpll import <yof which was not realised by members owing to insufficient time for consideration. After referring to what has been done concerning other measures named, the committee- says: ‘ This matter is such serious importance that employers consider nd desire to curtail tbe to certain limits should be alloyed to prevent ample time _ being whereby those immediately affected, and members of Parlament, may pve full consideration to proposed legislation ” The committee suggested that a further reason for complaint will. be obviated by Government deciding that sooner than allow legislation to be rushed through in the manner complained of it will postpone it foi con sideration till next session.
