ST. ANDREW’S TROOP.

Owing to thft wet Aveatlier outdoor operations of tlio Wolf Patrol have been imposible of late. Last Saturday scouts met in the class-rdoin and spent an. hour at . signalling,' will he a very useful branch of the service, and will be', put into immediate use at the New Year camp.’ Some good work was also <put in at the haka and in “rubbirig-up*' the test knots for tho coming examination. If the weatdiei holds up the Wolves will parade at the Roebuck Itoad Bridge at 3 p.m., with usual camping gear. _ , , On class-night, the Peewits Patrol went out in disguise. Amongst the best was Scout Whyte, who went as a street Arab. Knot-tying was the principal work of the evening, five different kinds having to be tied in not more than thirty seconds each. Being wet on Saturday afternoon last, the Peewits met at their class-room. with the Wolves, and did some signalling. They then practised Scout signs and the Patrol marks on the blackboard, and ended up with the haka.' This will be a great thing with a few finishing touches, and another practice or two Avill about do for it.

Y.M.C.A. TROOP

The Y.M.C.A. Troop met for instruction in Scout Law last week. A challenge /was received from St. Andrew s Troop for a contest in “storming; the heights,” , and a'scout Avas sent Avith a message in reply. As he did not return promptly, his patrol (Eagles) Avent to find him, and had a, brush Avith the enemy. Owing to the Avet Aveather the “storming the heights” did not take place last Saturday, lhe Cuckoos are glad that one of their patrol, Scout Higgins, Avon the boys’Marathon race. A rally for all scouts Avil] be held) at tho Y.M.C.A. Booms bn Sunday morning, at 10 o’clock. It is to he hoped that the camp at New Year will be a great success.
