GISBORNE CLUB
A ladies’ progressive tennis match was held op the Gisborne-Club’s court yesterday afternoon. There was a <*ood Attendance of ladies, and sixteen players' took part, keeping foijr court? g 0... ... Mrs. Carmichael won the first prize, a silver-mounted smelling-salts bottle, in the A and B sections Miss Freda Davis and Miss Nina Davis were the winners, the prizes being a silver vase each. A very pleasant aftcrhhoh Was fepent, and although th& rhi'n 'affected the courts it did nof. hinder the ladies from playing. Mrs. A. Murray presided at the afternoon tea. There were a number of ladies from the Croquet Club present, and the club’s Christmas cake was cut and sampled. It is proposed to hold these tournaments once a month.-
