ORDINARY MEETING
(.Special to'“Times.”) WAIPIRO BAY, Dec., 22. A meeting of the Waiapu County Council AA'as held to-day. , Incoming correspondence Avas dealt avith as folloAVS : Letters from the Hon. A. T. Njgata and Mr. W. D. S. MacDonald, M.P., re grants. Avere received. J’rom Sir J. G. Ward, stating that it was impossible to retain the section of the Local Bodies Loans Act as Avell as the State Guaranteed AdA'ances Act. — The letter was received. From Messrs Barclay and McLachlan, Gray, and A. H. Waliis, re payment of contributions by holders of small grazing runs. —Received. From the Commissioner of CroAvn Lands, and from the President of the Tni RaAvhiii Land Board, re the proposed road through Te .Puia toAvnship. —Received.
From Hatara Matehe, re compensation for municipal section.—The matter AA'as left for the engineer to deal AA-ith. The engineer’s and road; OA'erseer’s reports Avere read and considered. Cr. Cotterill proposed that the small bridge at Whareponga be altered. The motion was seconded by Cr. A. B. Williams and carried.
It was decided to plant willoAvs on the bank of the creek between the finger post and the change. Cr. Sherwood proposed that Hami Terapu be asked to remoA'e his fence off the roafl. at Raupo. The motion was carried.
The Chairman proposed, and Cr. A. B. Williams seconded, and it Avas resol. ved—“That the special order re noxious AA'eeds be not confirmed.” Payments AA'ere passed amounting to £Bl7, and the meeting terminated.
