The first round of the tournament is to be played by Saturday next. Members are taking a very keen interest in tennis just now, as the Hawley Cup, which means the championship of the club, is to be played for next month. WHATAUPOKO CLUB. The semi-finals in the combined doubles of this club were played on Saturday afternoon, anti resulted as follows: G. Smith and Miss Ensor beat G. Grant and Miss Ferguson, and Fenwick and Miss N. Davis beat Geoff. Willock and Miss Bull. The final takes place in a fortnight’s time.

WAIRARAPA TOURNAMENT. [Pick Press Association.| MASTERTON, Jan. 23. The Wairarapa tennis tournament opened on Saturday. Two round of the championship singles were played, those left jn being Booth, Quin.nell, Cox, Aitken and Bee. In the men’s championship doubles those left in are Cox and Aiken, Bunting and Elcoate. In the ladies’ championship singles those in are Miss Carley, Mrs. Holmes, Miss Simpson, and Miss Hughes. In the combined championship doubles those left in are C. C. Cox and Miss Hindmarsh, Quinnell and Mrs. Hawkins, Aitken and Miss Simpson.
