A pleasant afternoon’s rifle shooting practice was indulged in by the Gisborne Rifles on the Kaiti range on Saturday afternoon. Class firing took place at two ranges, 300. and 400yds, ten shots at each being allowed, five standing or kneeling, and five lying down, “file result was:

The Manawatu Rifle Association’s meeting was oontinned on Saturday in delightful weather, though a tricky wind was blowing. Corporal Ivells (Palmerston North Rifles) won the grand aggregate with a score of 237, beating King (Opaki) 233. Opaki won the champion teams match, Ivarori Rifle Club second. The results were:— Oroua Match, 600 and 700 yards, 7 shots at each distance, highest possible 70. —Kells (Palmerston North), £3, 64; Harrison (Wanganui),£2 10s, 63; Whiting (Whareroa), £2. 63; Fellares (Karori), £l, 63; Rivers (Hastings), £l, 62; Law (Dannevirke), £l, 62; Hay (Tvarori), £l, 61; Eyles (Dannevirke), £l, 61.
