GISBORNE RAIDING CLUB ACCEPTANCES. The following are the acceptanoos for the first day of the Gisborne Racing Club’s summer meeting, to be opened on Thursday next:— FIRST HANDICAP HURDLES, U toiles.

WELLINGTON RACES

[Pep. Pars a Association.l WELLINGTON, Jail. 26. Ideal weather prevailed for the third day of the Wellington Racing Club’s meeting. The attendance was well up to expectations. There were good fields in every instance, while all the events were despatched promptly. Close finishes were the order of the day. Bobrikoff’s sensational victory in the Summer Handicap met with general approbation, and for liis scoring a New Zealand, .record he received a great ovation from the public. The sum of £17,53S was invested on the machine, against £17,137 on the corresponding day last year; £51,062 passed through during the three days, as against £56,222 at last meeting. Bookmakers’ fees to-day amounted to £465 10s. The Governor and Sir Joseph Ward were amongst the visitors. The following are the results: AVallaeeville Welter, 6 furlongs.— Toango 8.5, I; Faunus 2, Undecided 3. Also started: Succession. Kilindini, Marengo, and Subdue. Won by a head. Time, Imin losec.

Melrose Handicap.—Sharpshooter 8.13, I; Mataari 8.12, 2; Swimming Belt 8.10, 3. Also ran: Sir Frisco, Wimmera, Bally Shannon, Vi, Tern, Ukraine, Montreal, Miscast, and Waiwerawera. The winner led half through the race, and won by two . lengths. Time, lmin 2S l-ssec. Hopeful Stakes, 4 furlongs.—Tenterhook 8.6, 1; Saxifrage 7.11, 2; Tribulation 7.6, 3. Also ran: Kohinoor, Formless, Varna, Sonite. The winner came away with a fine sprint in the last fifty yards, and won by half-a-length. Time, 49sec. Summer Handicap, 1 mile—Bobrikoff 10.1, 1; Effort 7112, 2; Merrivonia 7.10, 3. Also ran: Crucinella, Tumut, Sir Tristram, Kilindini, and Te Puia. Bobrikoff jput up a wonderful performance,. winning, as he liked, with a length and a-half to his credit in the New Zealand record time of lmin 39 l-ssec. He received a great ovation on returning to the enclosure.

Selling Plate, 6 furlongs.—Expansion 1, Ideate 2. Simplex 3. Also ran: The Seer, Lucretius, Thera, Cyrone, Alexis, Llanwern, and Undecided. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 16 l-ssec.

Kaitoke Handicap.—Amhala 8.0, 1; Glenspring 2, Teroti 3. Also started: Genius, Lares, Finst Battery, 3lanaia, and Gold Top. Won all the way by three lengths. _ . . Consolation Handicap, li miles. — Taskmaster 7.9, 1; Osiris 2, Iranui l 3. Also started: Roosevelt, Waipahu, Woodhey, Paisano, Ohanteuse, . Chauvelin, and Hilarian. Taskmaster made a fine finish, winning by three parts of a length. Time. 2min‘ 7 2-ssec.

City Handicap, 6 furlongs.—Equitas 8.1, 1; Silk Web. 2, Full Rate 3. Also started: Sunbounet, Full Sail, Bollin, Multiple, Whit? Cockade, Mon Ami, "Warlock, and Waiata. Won all the way by .a length. Time, lmin 14 3-5 sec.
