TO BE TAKEN NEXT YEAR. YEAR. [Pun Association.! WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. Arrangements for taking tlie census throughout New Zealand some time m April next year are already being attended to hv the Registrar-General, Air j,'. W. Alans field. /The actual date on which the census will be taken will synchronise with that for the collection of similar information in Great Brtiain, and the Registrar-General i.s in frequent communication with the Regis-trar-General in England, who is entrusted with the work at_ the heart of the Empire, so that as far as possible the range of inquiries will be .practically tlie same in Great Britain and New Zealand. The same steps are being taken in Australia. Air Aia-nsfield and tlie British official will be able to exchange ideas for the carrying out or what is a groat and important undertaking. The inquiry forms in use in most civilised countries have been obtained for the Commonwealth bureau. Here in Now Zealand, as elsewhere, vast improvements have been made of late years in the method of tabulating returns.
