The health authorities have ordered the re-exportation of two shipments of Chinese frozen pigs owing to indications of swine fever.
SAVED BY WIRELESS TELEGRAPHY.
The Alaska-Pacific liner Kentucky sank off Cape Hatteras, owing to the seams of the vessel opening in a storm. A wireless message brought assistance when the vessel was awash, and all of the 45 nersons aboard were saved.
GERMAN LOANS OVER-SUB-SCRIBED.

Two blocks in the main street of Cloncurry, comprising twenty business premises, have been destroyed by fire. The damage is estimated at £15,000. [Cloncurry is a small township about I*oo miles north-west from Brisbane.]

DEATH OF A CRIMINAL -SCIENTIST.
Dr. Ekenberg has died of apoplexy in Brixton prison. [Dr. Ekenberg, a scientist, well known in tlie Swedish colony in London, was arrested in October last on a charge of sending bombs to Hammerjoholm. ]
