A HITOH IN THE NEGOTIATIONS
(Received February 16, 10.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 16.
AATien the Wages Board met at Newcastle this afternoon, it was learned that a hitch had occurred in the negotiations for settlement. Air. Charlton, a member of tlie Assembly, who is engaged in formulating the miners’ 'claims, said that he had hoped to have arranged for the men to return to work on Monday next, bxit he had not had time to complete the task. He asked the Board to adjourn till next Wednesdav, and trusted to have the men back that day.
It is feared that a- serious obstacle has arisen in connection with Judge Schole’s and Air. Charlton’s efforts to bring the masters and men together.
