LOST ON MOUNT EGMONT.

MAN AND TWO WOMEN HAVE TRYING TIME.

Much anxiety is caused by a party comprising a man and two women being lost on Mt. Egmont for the last two days and nights. Accompanied by a. boy, they were ascending the mountain, hut got into difficulties. The boy went to Dawson’s Falls mountain house and informed tlie caretaker of the party’s plight. Caretaker Graham on seeing the party informed them that they could not be extricated without ropes, and advised them not to move till he secured .the necessary assistance. On returning, the caretaker found that the party had disappear eel, and they have not' since been seen. Search parties are out. It was raining heavily last night and to-day. Later.

The party missing on Mount Egmontwere recovered by the search party this forenoon. The ladies were in an) exhausted state, but no serious developments are expected; Their names are: Mr Gordon, photographer, Kaponga; Miss O’Brien, daughter of ex-Constable O’Brien, late of. Patea; and Miss Looney The bov’s name is net known. HAWERA, Feb. 25. A party of three, comprising Mr. Gordon, and Misses O’xirien and Looney. of Opunnke, got lost on Mount Egmont on Wednesday afternoon. After a long search the pissing party was found this morning, scantily clad, shoeless, and exhausted. Fresh help<n\s summoned to convey the rescued ones to the mountain house.
