SYDNEY, Feb. 25. The Amalgamated Aimers’ Association at Broken Hill demand the removal of Judge" Rogers from the bench for making a political speech in sentencing Bowling and others.
AN UNSUCCESSFUL APPLICATION TO THE AVAGES BOiABD.
(Received- February 25, 11.30 ,p.m.) • SYDNEY, Feb. 25.
Another development Fa's occurred at Newcastle. The secretary of the Federated Engine-drivers’ and Firemen’s Association applied to the AVages Board to be allowed to intervene in the proceedings in order that the members of his organisation should not be subject to discrimination when the question of re-engaging hands at the mines was considered. Judge Sclioies, in refusing the application, said that the petitioners must go to the Industrial Court to ask for a special Board. It is understood that the application is founded on a belief that the owners’ present attitude of refusing to take back all employees is aimed at the Engi n e-drivers’ Association.
