; At the inquest on Mr. Armytage, the Coroner perused a. letter left by the deceased addressed to the secretary of the Melbourne Club, Avhicli rorerred to his disappointment in not receiving lan appointment in the War Office, which he Avas anxious to secure. The rest of the letter referred to the disposal of his effects, and slioAved that he contemplated su icicle. The Coroner remarked that Mr. Armytage Avas in the prime of life and had l everything he could desire, youth Avitli health, but just one thing he Avanted he could not get, and it drove him to self murder. The verdict Avas suicide, and that there was nothing to show the deceased’s state of mind at the. time.
