EASTER FIXTURES.
A VARIED PROGRAMME. Gisborne will be well provided during Easter time in the matter of amusement, and these who wish to travel by trains will have the benefit of special holiday arranhgements. The bowlers will begin business tomorrow, when the competition for the Burton trophy will be. commenced. Besides local teams, a large number of Hawke’s Bay bowlers will take part in the tournament. This interesting fixture will be continued on Saturday and in the evening the Gisborne Bowling Club's smoke concert in connection with the trophy will be held. On Monday the principal attraction in Gisborne will be the football match Alhambra v. Gisborne in the omain. Sports will also be held at the Te Baraka racecourse.. The special train arrangements will no doubt induce a large number of picnickers to have a day in the country. The annual social of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club will be held in the Garrison Hall in the evening. At St. Alary’s schoolroom a euchre party and dance will also take place at the Alakaraka and Alatawhero Hah. His Alajesty's Theatre will be occupied with pictures on Friday, Saturday and Alonday evening, and skating will he on Saturday evening at the Garrison Hall.
