Cardinal Moran says that the statement that Roman Catholics have been prohibited from praying for the Sovereign is absolutely untrue. He hoped the Catholic celebrations of the Coronation would compare favorably with those of any other denomination.

In recognition of their invariable devotion to duty and the heavy strain on the police during Coronation week, Queen Alexandra has given £IOOO to provide two scholarships of £2O per year for a hoy and a girl of the Metropolitan and City Police Orphanage.

FOR OVERSEAS TROOPS AT
CEREMONY
Tlie military forces from the oversea dominions will be given a post of honor at both Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey on the day of the King s Coronation. A feature of the ceremonial wifi be the standard-bearers representing tlie oversea dominions. The structural alterations that had to be made in Westminster bbbey have been completed. Staging has been erected that mil give the building slating capacity for 80,000 people.
LAURIER TO HURRY HOME

It is authoratively asserted that as soon as the Imperial Conference closes Sir Wilfrid Laurier will hurry home to grapple with the problems that are developing with the approach of the general, elections in Canada. Mr. W. S. Fielding, Canadian Minister for Finance, wul remain as the Dominion’s representative at the Coronation.
While in England Mr. Feilding will endeavor to overcome prejudice existing in' this country with regard to the effects of the Canadian-American nciprocity agreement.
PREPARATIONS IN TIMARU
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.! TIMARU, June 19. The townspeople are preparing for a big display, with a procession in the afternoon and night for the Coronation and a public ball on Friday, with .a children’s fancy dress ball on. Saturday.
