SALE OF DIABOLO. Mr. J. Sutherland, of Gisborne, lias purchased from Mr. J. Monk the stallion Diabolo for stud purposes, and he will l arrive here in about a fortnight. Diabolo is by Stepniak from Tortulla, who won the New Zealand Cup in 1901. Diabolo', who is a jet black horse, has proved himself to be a. good performer on the turf. At three years he ran second in: the Canterbury Cup to Signor, third in the Wanganui Guineas to Aborigine and Diamond Star; third in the C.J.C. Derby to Husbandman, and St. Aidan; and third in the A.R.C. Derbv to Husbandman and Master Sonlt. At four years he won a welter at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s spring meeting, and was second in the A.R.C. Summer Cup, W.R.C. Cun and A.R.C. Grandstand Handicap. He also finished third in the Wanganui Cup and Wainui Handicap at the W.R.C.’s spring meeting. Last November be finished second in the N.Z. Cup, and won the Canterbury Cup. Altogether lie should be an acquisition to the blood stock in. the district.

RACE MEETING LICENSES REVOKED.

To-night’s Gazette contains a notice by the Minister of Internal Affairs revoking all 'icenses issued under tlie Race Meetings Act, 1909, as from July 31st, 1911, with a view to the issuing of licenses in future on such dates as may be required.
