"A SCRAPE O’ THE PEN.”

GR\ H A M-.M<) FEAT COAi PAN V' S S E AS() A CON C l, I'D ED.-

The Graham-Alolfat Company concluded their brief season at His Alaj-est-y’s last evening wRh the production of Air Aloffat's splendid comedy <,f Scottish farm life. ’-‘A Scrape o the Pen,” winch has been fitly desetbed as “a real hit of Scotland,” striking ait even deeoer and tenderer note than its predecessor “Runty Pulls the Strings.” Air Graham Moffat, the am hor-ac tor-producer was simply splendid in the role of Alattha Digits, a dour bigoted old man, and was ably hacked up by Airs Moffat as Ins "guid wife,” Lee/ue Inglis, wtule the strong supporting company made light woi k of the balance of a difficult cast. Special mention should be made oi the interpretation by Aliss Alattte Alaelellan of the part of Jean Lowi her. perhaps one of tne most exaeting in the play. Aliss Alaelellan was perfect and her unaccompanied singing in the second act of 'AYce Ailin' Wnikie” and "The Aukl Hoose,” simply brought down the house. Mr Aiec. G. 'Hunter, as Hugh Alem/.ie. supported n difficult role, and Alis>Alarm rot Noble, as Flora AlcGdp, •and Air Able Barker, as Geordie Pow, may be fairly singled out ol a universally excellent, east, willlc the work ol little Aliss Phillipa .Murray as Wee Eppie. is deserving of special commendation. The play gripued the audienee from start to finish and was accorded a most- flattering reception. Should the talented company decide to pay a return visit ittoy may rest assured of a warm welcome back.
