N.S.W. CHAMPIONSHIPS

In the State swimming championships Doyle, Kirkland and S. Henry won their heats in the 100yds, and Charlton and Griffiths in the 880yds. The finals will be swum on Saturday, when the Japanese champions will compete, contenting themselves with exhibitions to-hight. No _ very fast times were recorded. — U.P’.A.
MISS STOCKLEY RETURNS. AUCKLAND, Jan. G. After an absence in Australia el several months, Miss Edna Stocltley, the New Zealand 100 yards champion, ICO yards backstroke champion or Australia, and 100 yards free style champion of Australia, returned to Auckland by the Marama. Miss Stockley has returned to her home town to take part in the Auckland swimming championships, which commence next week, and also the New Zealand championships, winch open, hero on January 22. 1 .A.
