HIS GLORIOUS HOUR
LONDON, Dec. 27. The latest ‘Cfiptain of Koepnik” incident is reported from Gotha, reports the Berlin correspondent of “The Times.”
A well-dressed man of 22, staying at a fashionable hotel under the name of Baron Korff, told the pro>prietor he was Prince Wilhelm, a son of the ex-Crown Prince, travelling incognito. Tlie manager of the theatre arranged a special performance at which Korff occupied the former Royal Box and presented an actress with a box of chocolates, inscribed, “From Prince Wilhelm of Prussia.” Leading townspeople entertained him at dinner and local gentry invited him to a round of shooting parties, luncheons and dinners, at which he frequently borrowed money owing to “temporary difficulties.” Eventually,' he disappeared without paving those debts, and now it is announced that Korff is a well-known swindler who was formerly a coalheaver.
