CIRCUS TRAINER SAVED BY LIONESS

LONDON, Jan. 11. Captain Bostoek, of Bostoek and Wombell’s circus, was .saved from death in Leicester by a lioness springing upon a lion which had attacked him. The captain entered the cage to attend to a sick cub. When the lion broke through a partition and started mauling him the lioness sprang on the lion and there was a terrific fight in which the cubs Joined with the mother and succeeded in dragging the lion off Captain Bostock who was able to crawl through the door, badly torn. The fight continued till the animals were separated Hy attendants. This is the second time the lioness has saved Captain Bostoek. —A. and N.Z.C.A.
