ACCOMMODATION FOR 40,000 PEOPLE

(United Press Assn.—Copyright.) / LONDON, Jan. 13. Covering 40 acres, served by special tram lines and equipped with an 84,000 car park, giving accommodation for 4000 automobiles, the new Olympic stadium at Amsterdam will be the most complete in the world. The main stadium is of concrete and brick, and will accommodate 40,000 people, half of these hieing seated. The dimensions are 285yds by 185yds. It contains a football ground and a running track. Six hundred seats are reserved, for journalists. There will also *be telegraph rooms and 45 phone cabinets. The Royal and offioial boxes are in the centre of the ground. In- addition to the stadium, there is a. swimming stadium, a fencing pavilion, a cricket ground, 13 tennis courts, art gallery and gardens. The buildings are surmounted by a marathon tower 150 ft high, from which will issue a smoke column during the progress of the games.
