RECORD PRICE FOR ROMNEY RAM. CHANGES HAND'S AT 600GNS. EEILDING, Jan. 18. Mr. E. E. Short, the local Romney Marsh breeder, received 600 guineas tor a stud Romney ram of his -stud, the purchaser) being Mr Carr, ol Chatsbury, N.S.W. This purchaser had previously bought from Mr Short. At the last Royal Show, Sydney, he won all the Romney prizes with Mr. Short’s stock.—lDA. WELLINGTON, Jan. 18. Mr E. E. Short, of Mahua, Eeilding, has sold a- two-tooth Romney ram for the record price of 600 guineas, the purchaser being Mr A. S. Carr, of Chatsbury, Goulburn, New South Wales.—R.A. STUD FLOCK ROMNEY SALE. EEILDING, Jan. 18. The annual Parorangi sale of stud flock Romneys to-day was not quite up to last year. The highest price paid was 170 guineas, given by Messrs. O’Neill and Sons, Wanganui. Henson Bros., Feilding, paid 130gns. on ’ behalf ol “Parorangi” (the estate of E. Short). Forty-two studs averaged 40gns., and 55 flock rams averaged £ll 3s Id. On behalf of Mr. N. J. Short, four studs averaged £2O 4s 3d, and 77 flocks averaged, £7, 4s 4d. The highest price paid for a flock ram was 19 guineas.—P.A. STOCK AND SHARE MARKET. AUCKLAND, Jan. 18.
