THE LIEUTENANT DISMISSED.

The commander of H.M.S. Surprise, which was damaged in collision, and went ashore off Syracuse, has been tried by Court martial and acquitted. Lieut. Cave was dismissed from the navy.
H.M.ti, Surnrise, lately in collision anil ashore near Syracuse, and since arrived at Malta, la a twin-screw steamship, steel built, of 1400 tons displacement, used as a despatch vessel, She was built at Jarrow in 1898, and oust £7B,?fi4, her armament being four B-inoh 88cwt. breechloaders, four quick-firing, and two machine guns, The above telegram is quite different to a version previously published which stated that the Commander had been dismissed from the service.
