HAWKE’S BAY JOCKEY CLUB'S RACE MEETING.

(BCXCIAL TO THE STANDARD.)

Napier, last night. The race meeting of the above club at-tra’-ted a very large attendance ; tbe day having been proclaimed a public holiday in Napier. The following are the results: —

Grandstand Handicap.—Queen of Trumps 1. Lochness 2. Bay King 3. Four others ran ; won by a length with a bit in hand ; dividend, £4 IGs Hurdle Race—Otaieri 1, Chemist 2, The Peer 3 ; four others ran; won somewhat easily by half a length; dividend £22 19e. Hawke's Bay Cup —Cynisca 1. Dndn 2, Pearl Powder 3; Thm-ket-ay also ran. Won comfortably by a length; dividend, £5 10s. Nursery Handicap—Naruoi 1. Hakimana 2, Cretonne 3; six others ran ; won by a length after a good finish; dividend, £2 10s.

Hjiuh Weight Handicap—Jet d'ean 1, Cbnranto 2. Bay King 3; three others ran ; won by a bare half length; dividend, £4 Bs.

Trial Handicap—Como 1, Brown Duchess 2, Emerald 3; even others ran ; won easily by three lengths ; dividend, £l6 18s. Railway Stakes—Loehnese 1, Boulanger 2, Seraph 3; four others ran; won by a long head after an exciting contest; dividend, £l6 7s.

The attendance to-day was not so large as yesterday. Tbe reeulte are as follow :— March Handicap — Lenora 1, Lullaby 2, SwivelS. Four started. Won by half a heed. Dividend, £6 Is

Second Hurdles—Oaitifl 1, Taursekaitai 9, The Peer 3. Four niliars started. Won easily. Dividend, £3 ss. Burke Memorial Stake*—Dudu l.Loohnacs 2, Walcatipu 3 Eight others started. Won rather easily. Dividend. £7 6a.

Pacific Handicap—C imo 1, Silvarmine 2. Two others started. Won on tbe post, Dividend £2 10a.

Juvenile Stakes—Tiraillerie 1, Nomoe 2, Roaefeldi P. Four others started. Won after a splendid race, by a half lenght. Dividend £7 le.

Post Stakes—Couranto 1, limeraid 9, Legacy 8. Claude also rao. Won easily. Dividend £2 12s,

Place Handicap—LoohnoM 1, Swivel 2, Wakatipu 3. Three others started. Won very easily. Time, Imiu 44seo; dividend £9 7*.

Over £lO,OOO passed through the maohinel in the two days.
