Amalgamation.
[tq the editor, | Sir,—l do not intend to apply for the vacant position of Town Clerk, nor am 1 a member of any of the local bodies, and have therefore no reason to hide my identity behind a nom de plume, save that of modesty, Whether there is amalgamation or not only concerns rpe from a money point of view, but I want to protest against any severance of my positions of Borough and Harbor ratepayer. To hear those against amalgamation talk you would think my interest under each phase is distinctly antagonistic to my aUerego, Saving made in Borough expenditure affects me favorably, and so does Harbor saving. At the same time I care not from which source it is derived so long as it does not increase the expenditure of the other.—l am, etc. Ratepayer.
