ALPINE,
The erection of the additional five* bead of stampers for this company was completed last week, when crashing was again started after a spell of three or tour weeks. A scraping of top plates gave 3760zs of amalgam, 218 tons of clone having been pot through the mill. Messrs Savage and party having come to terms w.ith the company re linquisbed their contract for breaking down quartz, and this is now done by day labor. This arrangement will enablo the company to tost the stono before coming to the mill, and is expected to be more advantageous than the indis* criminate output hitherto prevailing.
