The main level south is now 90 feet from the shaft, and the face shows very fair stone, which although not of such large dimensions as at the place where the reef was cut, seems to be more compact with gold evenly distributed throughout the whole. Crushing was again Btarted on Tuesday night with all the foi;ce of the battery, but only two shifts are being done at the mill until more stopes will have been opened out. the mill constantly going. The winding gear has received a thorough overhaul, a new shaft of s£in. in diameter having replaced the 4in. axle, which has taken so much trouble to keep in repair.
