IMPERIAL.

After taking over the mine from the contractors, the sinking of the shaft has been continued by wages hands, three shifts of whom will be employed. Nine feet has been added to the depth during the week, making the total at present 56 feet. About 3 feet of good stone forms the reef at present, and the appearances seem to favour the anticipations of per manency and stability of the lode. However, as it is intended to push on the work with all speed, the full value of the discovery will soon be ascertained. In the meantime the stock is firmly held, and every confidence is placed in the ultimate success of the company.
