— \ Wellington*?*. The House resumed yesterday, when a long and profitless debate ensued upon a ruling of the Chairman of Committees. A number of Bills were advanced a stage. In Committee on tbe Loan Bill Shrimski's amendment having reference to the taxation of land improved by railways, was rejected, after a long discussion. In the debate on the schedule of works attached to the Loan Bill, Mum*o moved that the item "Greymouth - Reefton, £100,000," be reduced to £50,000, but it was rejected by 45 to IG. The Bill was then reported with amendments, and the next sitting fixed for the third reading. The House then adjourned.
