The operations at this mine began to show substantial improvement, the quantity of amalgam taken from the plates for the past weeks crushing is the best yet obtained being 96ozs. The amalgam on hand for three weeks and three days crushing was retorted to-day and gave 99ozs. of gold. The improved prospects of the company furnish a source of congratulation' both to the shareholders, and the district generally.
