night's run, the result being four hundred and four ounces of amalgam, making the total amalgam for the months crushing nine hundred anc 1 eighty-four ounces.- This gives an average return of something like 9dwts. per ton, which, considering the curing of the plates and absorption of new : silver, niust be regarded, as a highly satisfactory return. It is also worthy of note that m the earlier stages of the j crushing the tables were found in working to have 'too little pitch for : the~quality'bf the stone, necessitating .an, alteration, and which would account for a slight loss. It can be safely predicted that the next month's operations wiirshbw a "great improvement, and as the crushing just concluded leaves a very handsome margin of profit, the shareholders may look to the future with the greatest confidence. The tramway is now in full -working order, the mine well opened up, and one may safely prophesy a long and prosperous career for the undertaking.
