INANGAHUA LOW LEVEL.

A little stir was occasioned early in the week by the striking of a small make of stone in the face, it subsequently proved to be ouly a leader of a few inches in thickness, but the character of the country being in the highest degree promising, shareholders were on the alert and this morning news was received of the striking of a further body of stone, there being a seam of quartz and pug of from 18in. to 2ft through. The run waa, however, irregular and did not prove, ao far as is yet known, of any value. Aa, however, the country atill continues of a very promising nature more important developments will be looked forward to daring the coning week.

BIG RIVER EXTENDED. Reports from this mine state that the reef, which had previously been of a somewhat broken character, haa now made into a solid and compact body, three feet thick, aud carries gold estimated to be equal to two ouuces per ton. GOLDEN TREASURE. The prospecting operations in the southern portion of the mine hare been so far successful that the antimony reef, known as the south block, has been intercepted. Tlie reef was met with between Noe. 4 and 5 levels, and haa just been cleared away sufficiently to show a grand face of stove reaching from side to nide. Only two hands have been working in thia part of the mine, and they were compelled to use the winze for their mullock. The winze has therefore been partly tilled, and will now have to be cleared out preparatory to breaking into the reef to see what it ia like. In the northern part of the mine the bands have dttrtug the week been employed in following the rich run of atone known as the north block. The reef here is only from 12in. to loin, in thickness, but the atone is of magnificent quality, being estimated to be equal to eight ounces per ton. A reef carrying such gold Heed not lie very thick to pay handsotuly. The lode has been followed for several feet and is apparently taking a course away from all former workings in the mine, and the developments of the next few days will therefore be watched with great interest. There is about eight tons of atone already to grass, a considerable portion of which ia of grand quality. INKERMAN.
