INGLE WOOD EXTENDED.

A partial scraping of the top plates took place this afternoon, the yield of amalgam being 154 ozs. The return is rather poor, but the parcel of stone now Wiug operated on is a miscellaneous I lot gathered from different parts ofthe mine during the progress of the works for opening the low level, and was not expected to produce anything very grand. Until the rise is through, tbe better class of stone in the mine caunot be conveniently worked for want of ventilation. The distance | remaining to be risen is, however, only about 75ft., so that it will not be long before the better average stone will he brought under the operation of the stampers. The battery will resume to-morrow morning.
