CORRESPONDENCE.
THE "PARTY" OF EIGHT, ,
■Jlio THE EDITOB, OF THB STANDARD.] Sir, — So the Milverton-Abrahams-Russell clique have* been euchred again. Aiid where is all their party ? Have they dispersed like chaff before the Wind? And poor little Sol ! Is he left lamdtitiogf? But why not make the little man a Councillor, if that would satisfy him. Someone might retire and. give him a show just for peace sake. How ambitious some.of these little folks are to hear themselves talk m the Chamber. lam sorry for poor Mr Milverton, who I think is a well mjeaning man, but is simply being made a tool of, and a cutspaw by others for their own purposes. But what is the *6xt game of the party ? Is there not ' spme talk of an indignation meeting ? and the J.J?. J# I suppose, would preside, arid preacK to tho multitude, I hope they will be able to master over eight ratepayers to their, side befor then. — I am, &0, Bbxst. Jane.
