LINTON NOTES.
[From Our Own Correspondent.] On Friday evening last, Mr and M.s G. Wilson entertained their friends at a dance in the local hall. A most enjoyable evening was spent by those present. A dainty supper was provided for the guests and excellent music supplied by Mrs ‘Sharp, Messrs D. Gooch and E. Sharp (piano), L. Wilson (violin), J. Collis and C. Brill (cornet), and Mr A. Moyes. The dutios of M.C. were efficiently carried out by Mr S. Brown. The many friends of Mrs Young, senr., will regret to learn that sho has been compolled to enter a private hospital and will wish her a speedy recovery. Mrs Dunshea, who recently underwent an operation, is reported to be progressing favourably. Mr G. H. Aldrich, who has been seriously ill, is, about again. Despite recent bad weather, shearing operations are fairly well advanced in this distriat, and should now be completed by Christmas. The first drafts of fat lambs have already gone to the freezing works and, considering the unmpromising season, weights and percentage of fats are quito satisfactory.
