BOWLING.

GALA DAY AT PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB. A successful gala day under the auspices of the Manawatu Bawling Centro was held on the Palmerston North Club’s green yesterday, teams from the Oroua, Woodville, .Manawatu, Northern and Terrace End Clubs participating. Mr W. Crump, president of the Palmerston North Club, in a brief speech, welcomed tho visitors to the green and expressed the hope that each and every player would spend an enjoyable afternoon. He referred to the excellent spirit existing between the. clubs and said that undoubtedly gala days encouraged the good feeling and sportsmanship which at present existed.

Following were the results of the fames, the winners being mentioned rst in each case: Northern: Walker, -Levy, Hodder, Arnott (skip.) 21 v. Palmerston North, Galvin, Hepworth, Tattersall, Stephenson (skip.) 19. Terrace End: Ashton, Collier, Hodgins, Duncalf (skip). 20 v. Manawatu: Andrews, Preece, Kershaw, Holdaway (skip.) 18.
