“BEAUTY AND THE BEAST”
Miss Eldred’s pupils are practising assiduously for their iairy play, and another section of tho piograqime appears on jthe front page to-day. Little Betty Moore, of Feilding, takes quite a prominent part in tho lairy roveis. As a bewitching little pantomime fairy, Betty discovers tho retreat of tho real lairies, and beseeches them to let her join them. Tho Fairy Queen (Ray Hern) and tho Fairy King (BUlio Shannon) consent, and tho magical spell is cast upon her. Bernard Tremaine, as Jack o’ Lantern, plays tho part of a livoly mischievous elf, who is always playing tricks upon tho unsuspecting fairies. Fairy Sunshine (Nola Milverton) sends tho tames to find a iittlo mortal girl with natural manners and natural curls, as sho is ashamed of tho lairies, who havo been “bustored” and shingled by tho Fairy Fire-Sprite (Ula Williams). Margarot Matthews as Fairy Bright-Eyes, and Olga Rough as Woodland Fairy, capturo tno little mortal child (Margarot Paul) and she also, is changed inio a fairy. Little Bruce Taylor upholds his character of Bob-tail. Further reference to the programme will appear in to-morrow’s “Standard.”
