Quite a new venture is being promulgated by tho members of the Debating Society of the Y.M.C.A. in the form of a mock parliament. Next Wednesday evening the public are cordially invited to attend this novel function when the debate will be on, “The Imposition of a Bachelor Tax,” while there will also be a discussion’ on the present military system of the Dominion. His Worship the Mayor (Mr A J. Graham) will act in the capacity of Mr Speaker. Prominent local speakers will deal with the subjects in a humorous manner. Further details are advertised on page 1. Admission is free with a retiring collection.
