CELEBRATION IN NEW YORK, 'L7

Received January 27, 10.50 a.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 26. Australia Day was celebrated at the British Luncheon Club to-day. Among the guests were the British ConsulGeneral, and the trade representatives of Canada and South Africa. Mr Dow, the Australian representative, in an address, outlined Australians’ efforts at rehabilitation, and concluded, by saying: t ‘Australia will be there* REGATTA AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Jan. 27. The Anniversary Day holiday in Sydney yesterday was favoured with fine weather. The annual regatta provided a colourful harbour scene with the Orient liner Oronsay as the flagship. A good breeze from the south-east was most helpfdl- to the yachtsmen. *
