BRITISH ASSOCIATION’S RULES
Received December 13, 1.50 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 12
The annual meeting of the Lawn Tennis Association elected Sir Samuel ■Hoa re president. Mr H. Monckton moved that the rules bo amended in order to make a “subsidised player” ineligible for the committee or to compete in any. tournament except the national championship. He said there was no use burking the fact that there was much insidious subsidising. “AA r e want it brought into the open,” he said. The meeting accepted the proposal. Mr Monckton then proposed that competitors in tournaments except the national championships should make a declaration they are not directly or indirectly under a,n obligation to further the business of any firm or are receiving financial assistance, rebate or hospitality. The meeting agreed to an alternative proposal, that notice to the same effect as the declaration should be inserted in the entry forms except those for the national championships.
