EARTHQUAKE SHOCK.
LARGE AREA AFFECTED. SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 21. A severe earthquake shook the west from Rawlins, Wyoming, to Longbeach, California, last night, but the damage was confined to broken windows and crockery. The shake stopped clocks in most places. No injuries to persons are reported.
The shock rocked the entire State of Nevada. At Gerlaclr, Nevada, a large water tower was knocked down. Reno was also sharply shaken. The walls of the Californian State capitol at Sacramento creaked and rattled.
