RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, Oct. 3. Appearing in the Marton Magistrate’s Court, this morning, before Messrs A. J. B. Sicely and A. C. M. Parkinson, J.P.’s, Francis Dennis O’Connor was charged with attempting to obtain 10s from William Prico by falsely representing that he was employed by Herbert Meyers, of Cliff Line, Marton. Accused was convicted and discharged, with a severe warning that if ho should appear again he would have a more severe penalty imposed ujion him. Advice has been received by Miss Mountfort, local secretary for tho Trinity College of Music, London, of the result; of local examinations in practical subjects conducted at Marton on Saturday by .Mr Anderson Tyrol- (pianoforte).—Advanced senior division, Elaine E. Weston (Mrs C. Bowick, A.T.C.L.) 72, pass; junior division, Edith M. Scott (Miss Mountfort) 76, pass; Edith M. Rofe (violin, teacher, Mrs Taaffc) 75, pass; preparatory division, Nancy Gibson (Miss Barrett) 73, pass.
