ARCHBISHOP SHEEHAN.
VISIT TO AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 28. A notable visitor who arrived from Sydney this morning was Archbishop Sheehan, until recently Roman Catholic Coadjutator Archbishop of Sydney. Archbishop Sheehan had the right of succession to the Archbishop, but a few weeks ago he announced his resignation, stating that spiritual reasons were involved. He added that it was his intention to spend the rest of his days in prayers and study in Rome after visiting Ireland. Archbishop Sheehan has long been considered one of the most scholarly Churchmen in this part of the world. This morning His Grace declined to indicate his future plans other than that he was on his way to Ireland, where lie hoped to renow old friendships. He did not know if he was returning to Australia, and said that his literary work alone would keep his hands quite full.
