WEDDING.
rAYNE—HORN, The wedding took place at St. Paul’s Alethodist Church, Palmerston North, on Saturday, July, 10, of Stanley Samuel, youngest son of Air and Airs A. Payne. Puniho, Taranaki, and Nesta Elizabeth, youngest daughter of Mrs and the late Mr L. E. Horn, of Palmerston North. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Air McDowell, and Air A. Tregurtha played the wedding music. The church was daintily decorated by the bride’s friends. The bride, escorted by her brother. Air D. Horn, wore a trained gown of magnolia satin cut on classical lines, with, long sleeves and high neckline. Rows of tiny buttons made a pretty effect down the back and sleeves. The beautiful veil of net and lace, forming a second train, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms with net halo. Her bouquet was composed of cream cyclamen, winter roses, carnations, and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by Alisa Elva ’Morris, of Palmerston North, her frock being of apricot lace with A r neckline back and front, and finished with tulle trimmings. Her picture hat was of tulle finished with a floral spray. She also wore elbow-length mittens and shoes to match. Her bouV’.t of roses, carnations and maidenhair fern matched her frock. The wee flower girl was a niece of the bride, Alerle Donald, of AYarea, who wore a slipper-length gown of apricot shot taffeta, made on early Victorian lines. She wore a latticed bonnet trimmed with pink forget-me-nots. Her shoes matched her frock and she carried a , posy to tone. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr R. Payne, of Puniho. A reception was held at the home of the bride, where about 70 guests gathered. The large dining-room and. tables were decorated in colours toning with the bridal party. Alany telegrams o.f congratulations were received. The bride’s mother, assisted by Mrs Payne, received her guests wearing a smart navy embossed frock with scarlet shoulder spray. Her peach bloom hat and coat matched her frock. Airs Payne chose a browr. ensemble with autumlj-tinted shoulder spray. Her hat matched her frock and a fur necklet completed her toilet. Mr and Airs Payne lelt by car for the north, the bride wearing a brown pin-striped costume with matching hat and brown accessories. Instead of hard-boiling eggs for sandwiches, scramble them, add a few drops of milk if necessary to make the mixture the consistency of jam, add salt and pepper, and spread in the usual way. Alade thus the sandwiches are easier to pack and to eat.
